Why we built closedloop

We built closedloop to do one thing well: let a group of people talk privately in a space that exists only as long as they need it, and leaves nothing behind when it's gone.
Not another account on someone else's platform. Not a service that keeps your conversations "for your convenience." A space that is yours, that only the people you bring into it can enter, and that you can erase completely whenever you want.
Ultimate privacy
The right to privacy — to a private life and private correspondence — is a fundamental human right, set out in Article 12 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. closedloop exists to make that right real rather than merely stated.
A loop runs on a server in your own cloud account. We set it up, then hand it over: you set your own password, add your own key, and revoke ours. After that we hold nothing — no password, no messages, no way back in. The privacy isn't a promise we ask you to trust; it's that there is no longer any path for us to reach you.
Nothing said inside a loop goes anywhere else. It isn't scanned, indexed, or copied to someone's cloud, and it can't be handed over when someone comes asking — because there is no one to ask. The conversation lives on your server and nowhere else.
Simple
Nothing to configure, nothing to maintain. You create a loop, bring in the people who belong in it, and talk. It runs in a browser. That's all there is to it.
Temporary by design
A loop is meant to be temporary. You start one when you need a private space, and when you're done, you delete it. The server is destroyed and every message with it. There are no backups, so there is nothing to recover — and nothing left to leak. What's gone is gone. That isn't a limitation we put up with; it's the whole idea.
What you give up
Plainly: a loop is a closed room, not a phone line. You can only talk to the people inside it — nothing comes in from the outside, and nothing goes out. And because we keep nothing, only you can bring it back: lose your own access and it's gone for good. For the people this is built for, that's exactly the trade they want.
If you want a private place to talk that answers to no one and disappears when you're done, that's what closedloop is.
